The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2006 requires those in charge of premises (Duty holders) to manage the risks associated with the presence of asbestos.

Under these regulations the Duty Holders has a legal duty to:

  • Identify and record the location and condition of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) on their premises.
  • Assess the risks associated with the ACM’s.
  • Make information available to everyone who might need it including the emergency services.
  • Train everyone who may come in contact with ACM’s
  • Re-inspect ACM’s every six to twelve months regardless of condition and record the results.
  • Document and implement an Asbestos Management Plan.

The first step is ensuring you have a detailed building survey which forms the cornerstone of your Management Strategy.

We hold UKAS accreditation for inspection to undertake type 1, 2 and 3 asbestos surveys in accordance with HSE guidance MDHS 100. Our survey reports are user friendly and are easily cross referenced; they provide clear practical guidance with recommendations for action. All reports contain colour coded cad plans.

It is a legal requirement to re-inspect the ACM’s on a regular basis, usually 6-12 months. To free valuable resources many of our clients outsource the re-inspection part of their asbestos management to AOH Ltd safe in the knowledge it is in expert hands. With over 20 years experience in building surveying there are very few building types we don’t have knowledge of.

We hold UKAS accreditation for testing and can on your behalf provide an independent project management team to look after any of your asbestos abatement projects. We can specify, tender and manage all the elements of the project up to final 4-stage clearance.

To ensure all records are kept up to date all surveys, management plans, monitoring reports etc can be maintained by AOH Ltd using web-based solutions which allow interested parties to access.
